WHEN | April 21, 2012 to April 29, 2012 WHERE | There are 58 national parks in North America. Alaska and California have the most, each with eight. Here is a list of the national parks in California: Channel Islands, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Kings Canyon, Lassen Volcanic, Redwood, Sequoia, Yosemite. WHY | There is no admission fee during National Park Week. If you arrive in your private car, van, pickup truck, or RV, you will not have to pay a $20 entrance fee per car. If you arrive on foot, horseback, bicycle, motorcycle, or on a non-commercial bus you will not have to pay a $10 addmission fee.

The Moon follows an elliptical path around Earth with one side (“perigee”) about 50,000 km closer than the other (“apogee”). Full Moons that occur on the perigee side of the Moon’s orbit seem extra big and bright. This is what we will see tonight.

Obama’s Republican rival, Mitt Romney, swiftly disagreed and told the Associated Press “I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.” A Gallup poll released this week found 50 percent of all adults in favor of legal recognition of same-sex marriages, marking the second time that poll has found support for legal gay marriage at 50 percent or higher. Majorities of Democrats (65 percent) and independents (57 percent) supported such recognition, while most Republicans (74 percent) said same sex marriages should not be legal.
